Back in 2017, when West End resident Max Koehler first opened his Wash Your Way RVA car wash at 4040 Sadler Road near Innsbrook, he had mentioned to me that Richmond was underserved in the car wash market. My, how that has changed.

“There have probably been 40 new car washes that have opened since then,” Koehler told me during a recent visit. You may have noticed the proliferation of car washes, yourself. But what you may not have noticed is that despite the number of establishments touting “Unlimited Car Washes” or “Monthly Memberships,” nobody does it better than Wash Your Way RVA.  And that’s not just an opinion. Do the math and you’ll see what I mean.

What makes this car wash unique? After all, it seems that all of these new places offer unlimited monthly memberships. But here’s the big difference. Every other car wash in the area that promotes the unlimited car washes only offers the external car wash. 

“There’s no hands on, no finishing touches, no interior cleaning,” Koehler says of the other guys.

However, when you purchase the basic monthly unlimited plan at Wash Your Way RVA, it comes with a once-a-month full-service package. And just look at what that package includes:  They’ll clean your interior windows, and give the interior a thorough vacuuming. Plus, they clean your dash and console. The full service also offers an exterior towel finish. They will also clean your wheels and shine your tires. The full service package alone is a $26 value, so, since the basic monthly membership  is under $30 a month, you’re virtually getting all additional exterior washes for just a few pennies more, even if you only take your car in one or two additional times during the month.   

Who else offers anything that can compare? No one.

As fantastic a value as the monthly membership is. and as great as Wash Your Way RVA’s equipment and cleaning agents may be, these are not the things about which Koehler is the most proud. “The number one compliment I get here is about the staff,” he says. 

I had first been introduced to Koehler when he opened Wash Your Way back in late 2017. “I told you then that we wanted to be the service leader,” he says recalling our conversation some six years ago. Continuing, he adds, “Now, I can tell you that we are the service leader.

With an unlimited package that no other car wash even comes close to offering and with a truly professional staff, largely consisting of high school and college kids, Koehler says, “If you live within three miles of here, there’s no reason to be going to any other car wash.”

Personally, I live about six miles away. With the recent influx of new car washes, I pass several on my way to Wash Your Way RVA, but it’s worth the drive. I know I’m going to get exceptional customer service. I know the “kids” are always going to be polite and professional. And I know I’m saving lots of money with their unique unlimited plans. 

One of my favorite songs going back a few decades, was Carly Simon’s “Nobody Does It Better.” And while I don’t hum the tune every time I visit Wash Your Way RVA, I can tell you for a fact that when it comes to getting a professional car wash, indeed, nobody does it better than Wash Your Way RVA. And I mean NOBODY!
